lip blush before and after pink

what is lip blush?

Lip blush is a cosmetic tattoo which can last 2-3 years. Similar to microblading/ombre brows, this simple and non-invasive procedure is rightfully gaining more attention in the beauty world.

Lip blush adds a beautiful colour to your face and overall complexion. It enhances the shape, symmetry and definition of your natural lips. Lip blush can also give you the illusion of fuller, more youthful lips.

It is an easy way to add smudge-proof colour and vibrancy to your face. Say goodbye to sad, pale, lifeless lips. You’ll be able wake up, pop on some lip balm and glow!

At Pretty Face Ink, you’re able to select your colour and how we enhance our natural lip shape. We’ll work with you to customise a beautiful colour to suit your skin tone and personal preference. Please visit our socials to view our extensive before and healed lip blush photos.

what is dark lip neutralisation?

We specialise in working with dark, melanin-rich lips at Pretty Face Ink.

Lips with dark pigmentation are particularly common for people of colour - fitzpatrick types 3-6 generally have more melanin production and lips can often look two-toned. If your lips are brown or blue/purple (even if it is ever so slightly), the blushing process will be a bit different compared to lip blush on clients without dark pigmentation in their lips.

We must select warmer, brighter colours (like the example in our photo) to even out and lift the dark tones in your lips. Don’t stress! Your lips will heal into a soft and natural colour. It usually takes a couple of sessions to create an even and neutralised canvas. We will then work towards your desired goal colour.

Dark lips require a minimum of two sessions and each session is scheduled 8 to 10 weeks apart to allow the lips to fully regenerate and even out in colour. Dark lips go through different stages of healing and sometimes can appear temporarily darker or patchy before they lighten and even out. A bit of patience is well worth the results.

If you’re unsure whether you’ll require dark lip neutralisation, don’t worry - we will guide you through the process during consultations.
