(pre-care instructions)
Keep your lips well-moisturised. Use a nourishing lip balm frequently. Nourished and hydrated lips are key to a comfortable procedure and great results.
Exfoliate the dead skin on your lips every night a few days leading up to the appointment. A DIY lip scrub can be made using 2 tsp sugar and 1 tsp oil/honey.
Drink plenty of water days leading up to the appointment to ensure your lips are hydrated.
Bring your favourite everyday lipstick so we can try to colour match as closely as possible. A photo reference works too.
Avoid alcohol and caffeine 24 hours prior. This includes coffee, tea, bubble tea, pre-workout, energy drinks etc. Consumption may lead to excessive swelling, bleeding or bruising.
Stop blood thinning medication 72 hours before treatment. Avoid fish oil, ibuprofen, aspirin etc to prevent excessive bleeding.
Cold sore medication and lysine supplements are highly recommended before the procedure as a preventative measure. If you have experienced cold sore/fever blisters (even if it was one years and years ago) medication before and after is a MUST. Please see your doctor/pharmacist for anti-viral meds and take it before your appointment.
For your comfort, it is highly recommended that you eat beforehand and bring a big jacket/blanket to put over yourself during the procedure.
*Please note, lips cannot be dry, cracked or chapped. No active acne, sunburns, cuts or blisters should be present around the mouth area. Your deposit may be forfeited if pre-care is not followed and the procedure cannot go ahead.
